Under construction, again

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

We’re back under construction. I had planned on unveiling, all at once, the new Planet Retcon website, the first episode of season 2, and the new forums all at the same time.

Yeah. That was the plan.

Well, the first episode is out, so I figured I’d start getting the new site out there. You’ll already notice the “Title” screen on the blog has been replaced with a nifty navbar (Inkscape is love) that mostly works the way I want it to. Eventually, the main page will NOT be the blog, but will be a far more static page that showcases the two main shows (Stargate Cafe and Crimson Lien) and gives new visitors an extremely easy way to listen to shows both new and old. The blog will still be present and easy to reach, but it just won’t be the default.

Also, the forum (and everything on the site) will share this new navbar to allow for easier, more seamless navigation throughout Planet Retcon.

Right now, if something doesn’t work, please be patient and it should work soon. If you need something, of course feel free to contact me at planetretcon@planetretcon.com or post here and we’ll set you up.

    Update

    Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Okay, we’ve got forward motion. As those of you who frequent the forum know, I’ve been on a much needed vacation in the desert of Arizona, where it was much colder than I had hoped it would be, but I got a lot of relaxing in nonetheless. Now, Planet Retcon is back open for business!

I’ve almost got the music and sound effects down, and when that’s done, the episode will be up! I’m hoping to be done in a couple days, and I’m also hoping it will *rock*.

Happy New Year! Podcast Pickle Favorites Reset

    Monday, January 1st, 2007

Happy New Year from Planet Retcon! Are you ready for season 2 to start!?

Well, we’re not. As you likely know, the final Hiatus show is still not ready, mostly due to me having NO time to work on it over the past 2 weeks. I’ve snuck time enough in to get it written and recorded, but I haven’t been able to edit it yet. I’m hoping I can get it in tonight and posted tomorrow morning. We’ll see.

Of course, that means that Season 2’s not quite ready yet. The voice tracks for the first episode of the Log of the Crimson Lien are all down, but I still need SFX and some music, so I’m guessing it’ll be about a week before that’s ready. I’m working as fast as I can!

But there’s something you can do to help! A couple days ago, Podcast Pickle reset their stats and about a dozen of you have dutifully gone in and added us again as a favorite. That’s great! But, that means that many more of you have not, so if you would, head over to Planet Retcon’s Pickle Page and click the “add to favorites” link under the picture on the left. If you’re not a member of the Podcast Pickle site, I would recommend it, they’re a great resource for both podcasters and podcast listeners.

Okay, enough rambling. I made this post long because I didn’t have the time to write a short one, but now I’m off. Season 2’s on the horizon!
